Birthday Fun!
Well, my 65th birthday, today will be a fun day for me. Dan gave me some nice gifts including two new sweater-tops, and a train book. We'll have lunch together downtown after I enjoy the Wanamaker organ concert. I get a free large special coffee from Starbucks from my birthday and a $10 free gift from Godiva...these I'll get when I go downtown. I will also sign up for my free senior citizen transit pass, and later some other friends are taking me out to dinner at Sagami, my favorite japanese restaurant. So it will be a wonderful day!

Supreme Disappointment...Hopefully Temporary
The U.S. Supreme Court stay which halts marriage equality in Utah is pending the outcome of the 10th circuit appeal, which judges there have already indicated will favor marriage equality(they denied the stay based in part on their belief that the state would NOT prevail on the merits.) Then we will see if the Supreme Court will even hear the further appeal (grant cert)...and I bet they will not, which will mean marriage equality will return to Utah, one more state, while the battle continues to play out in other states.
London: Somerset House In The Snow
I keep finding out new things about Google...today I see that they took some of my recent photos and turned them into animated gifs of snow scenes. When we were in London we walked across the Waterloo Bridge from the South Bank to Somerset House, a large palace that now houses the Courtold institute, home to much great art. I took this photo, but it wasn't snowing at the time. But thanks to Google, it's snowing there now!

Thinking Warm Thoughts While IT's Frigid Outside
We'll be visiting lovely St. Barths once again if we make it through January and February and all of this extreme cold and snow. We'll be there for Mardi Gras once again, and that will be fun. The parade is very colorful. It's nice to daydream about Barths as long as we are virtually house bound due to the recent storm.
