A distrubing trend with our current president is his desire to have it both ways on controversial issues. With the ground zero mosque, he first articulated a clear position favoring the right of Muslims to build their mosque, then a day later he backtracked by saying that, while they have a right, he would not comment on the wisdom of building the mosque at the proposed location. In trying to cover his bets on both sides of the issue he ends up pleasing no one and angering many. What we really need is a leader willing to take a stand on tough issues.
