Denmark is not a part of the European Union. Once you’re here for a day or two you understand why this is so. The standard of living, or more accurately, the cost of living here is very high. Everything is expensive in terms of dollars. The other evening we dropped $100 each for a nice dinner. Why would the Danes want to join the EU and have to subsidize poorer countries like Portugal?
