Sunday In Tokyo
Our morning excursion from our elegant Palace Hotel overlooking the Royal Palace and park, was to Ueno Park, a great museum district. There
Jim and I visited the National Museum of Western Art, with many Impressionist works, and the
National Museum, which focuses on traditional Japanese art. We had lunch at the second Museum.
On the way to and from the hotel, and outside of the National Museun, we saw floats and costumed
bearers of the Kanda Matsuri(Shinto) Festival. In the evening we enjoyed a cruise on the Tokyo Bay waterways with
spectacular views of Tokyo at night. The cruise also featured a multi-course dinner, and
members of our tour group enjoyed our first social evening together. Monday our group will
get an early start for a full day of activities. - Dan
