Last evening Dan and I and our good friend Ed Mallon saw the Pines Arts Project's production of "The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas." It was this first time we saw a show in "Whyte Hall," the beautiful new Pines Community Center. Most of the cast are Equity members and the FIPAP usually mounts a pretty good show. The actors and dancers were excellent. However, I didn't much care for the book or the music. I wish they had selected some other show, e.g., something by Kern, to do as an inaugural for the new house.
It's definitely feeling at lot like autumn out here on the island these days. The blanket is back on the bed and sleeping is great, or at least it will be after the local bars turn down the thumpa-thumpa that goes on all night when they have their weekend mega-parties.
