Munich 6/16/18

Friday morning, after breakfast, we walked to the new Rathaus, or City Hall, to see the popular automaton show of a tournament complete with knights in armor, and dancing figures, all assembled on balconies on the clock tower. The figures are life-sized and crowds gather in the plaza below to see them perform set to music. Our next attraction was the toy museum housed in the tower of the Old Rathaus. Jim photographed the toy trains, versions of which are in his own collection. Then in the university neighborhood we had a delicious lunch at a brasserie. We walked back to the hotel to prepare for our flight to Dresden early Saturday morning. Our final dinner in Munich was at the Konigshof, which overlooks the Konigsplatz, a large square that leads to the gates of the Old City Center. - Dan
