Naples, Sorrento And Positano, August 22, 2018

Since we've been to both Naples and Pompeii a few times, we chose a "Chef's Market Tour" during our ship's day docked in Naples. The tour included a visit to a large farm, "Le Colline di Sorrento," (The Hills of Sorrento,) where limoncello, cheeses, and wines are made. After touring the farm, a woman named Rosa demonstrated the making of mozzarella. The simple lunch included breads, cheeses, pasta and the home made wines, red and white. Stops in two of the main towns on the Amalfi Coast were included on our tour, so we re-visited beautiful Sorrento and touristy Positano. After returning to the ship and showering, we ate the Chef's special dinner at a top deck restaurant, "The Porch." Although it included a good cioppino and fine desserts, the meal couldn't compare with the Spanish one in La Coruna on last year's Celebrity Line Atlantis cruise. - Dan
