Handel's Messiah At The Pa. Ballet
Yesterday we experienced the new Pennsylvania Ballet's "Messiah" at the Academy of Music. I thoroughly enjoyed this ambitious and unique dance setting of the entire oratorio. The performance lasted about 2-1/2 hours but was never boring, thanks to the combination of abstract and story ballet utilized by multiple choreographers. I'm not sure that attending future concert versions of Messiah can match yesterday's experience.
