One of the restaurants in the restaurant association "Bouna Assoglienza" suggested by Jim’s St. Bart’s web friends is the Wildner, right in front of the Wildner Hotel. Tonight we had mixed reactions to this restaurant. First we shared a plate of grilled octopus with onions and roasted potatoes. It was very tender, and then for his entrée Jim had a really delicious seafood lasagna in a light cream sauce. Dan ordered a turbot with slivered zucchini accompanied by the base of a marinated artichoke. Both were washed down by a hearty Cabernet Franc wine from the Veneto. Later, for dessert, Jim had the panacotta, a vanilla flavored pudding covered with raspberry sauce; Dan enjoyed a home-made tiramisu. Jim found the food too delicate for his taste but Dan liked the restaurant. After dinner we walked down along the banks of the Arsenale section of Venice before boarding the vaporetto for the Lido, and back. It was a pleasant ride to end a tremendous day.-Dan
